Superb small bevel down smoother, type S45, serial number 31/2007. The wood is called Mutondochuru and will darken to a rich brown shade, and I have no more of this rare and beautiful hardwood. It is provided with an additional blade for those who want to take advantage of the ability of this hefty little plane to make full use of a back bevelled blade, thereby increasing the cutting angle to around 55 degrees.

Plane number 50/2008 is an S15A with Wenge wood and is only the second one to have rounded sides- the first one was number 01/2006.
As number 50 it may be regarded as a "milestone" plane-the next milestone plane would be number 100 ?
I have ground the Veritas blade at 30 degrees and honed it at 35 degrees-one could easily hone this blade at 40 degrees for a York pitch.
The other two blade options from Veritas will provide a further range of angles to increase the versatility of this plane.
