High performance dedicated miter plane with 12° bed angle. A novel treatment of the rear end and the blade.
The infill for knob, front, back, and cap screw is made of Rhodesian Teak. A screw-in knob facilitates use of the plane on its side.
With this release we also introduce a new design for the medallion on the cap of all planes. It is constructed of stainless steel and fixed by press fit and glue.
The main features include:
- Average weight: 8.80 lbs. or 4 kg. A high body mass for its length.
- Dimensions: length 285mm, width 65mm, height 60mm.
- Materials used: sole - 8mm O1 tool steel, sides 380 brass, cap and adjuster base-bronze type LG2.
- Design: Bevel Up with bed angle of 12° fitted with blade location screws.
- Iron: 5 mm thick made of D2 steel.
- The blade is ground at 25° and honed at 30°, providing a cutting angle of 42°, ready for out of the box use.
- Blade adjustment is via a simple screw and peg. The screw is 1/4 inch 28 threads per inch, seated in a generous bronze base which is part of a three part blade support. Lateral adjustment is easily done with this arrangement as well.
- The blade is well supported at three positions, especially at the mouth where the sole ramp supports the blade virtually to the cutting edge. The substantial bronze cap and screw exert pressure most effectively at this critical position
Blade stability is further increased through alignment by set screws on each side of the blade.

- Deluxe Knob B1, shown below, will be made in Imbuia as a standard wood or in the wood of your choice.
- All knobs for planes S15, S15A, S20A, M12, and M20A are 60mm high and diameter is 50 mm.
All knobs are equipped with a top cap without slot for screwdriver. My new design doesn't require a screwdriver to attach the knob to a plane. The bottom of the knob is finished with a brass ring. Deluxe Knobs, in addition to all features described above, are decorated with a brass ring. | | |
